Tax Could Be Made Painless

Hi, This is Roberta. I am in a tiny town in Tennessee. Blog writing is not something that I have done before so so bear with me. Those people who know me personally would probably wonder why I am writing this blog. This is not my usual activity but I am doing it because there are important things that I absolutely need to tell all my fellow taxpayers about.

A couple of years ago when I filed my federal tax return, I was a single mother and I did not know any better. I did not know what any of the things on the tax forms were and naturally I did not understand what tax deductions or tax credits were. Every years, I took my W-2 (I was working at that time, now I am not working) to the nearest Jackson Hewitt office and had them do absolutely everything.

That was my problem, I really thought everything was fine until I received a letter from the IRS. According to the info they gave, I dug deeper and discovered that my ex husband without my knowledge claimed certain tax credits that were were supposed to be my tax credits. I did not have a clue what to do and whom to go to and it was the very first time I ever had to think about how to claim my tax credits.

I had to make tons of phone calls. I even had to call my lawyer and pretty much everyone I could call. I hope that this never has to happen to anyone in a similar situation to mine so I have started this blog to let people know all I have discovered about tax credits so hopefully they will be prepared when it is time to file their tax returns.
